OKX, a global cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the addition of $CITY, the official fan token of Manchester City Football Club, to its platform. Football and cryptocurrency fans can trade $CITY tokens with USDT on the OKX crypto exchange.
OKX confirmed the listing of $CITY on its exchange platform in a press release on September 28. In preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the listing will allow crypto fans on social media to vote on which fan tokens should be listed on its exchange.
Overview of the $CITY Fan Token
$CITY utility tokens will be available on the Chiliz-powered fan engagement and reward app Socios.com in 2021. These tokens enable Man City fans to receive rewards and engage directly with sports community members, such as players and other team officials.
Furthermore, $CITY tokens enable fans to vote in polls, participate in games and competitions, purchase VIP tickets, unique experiences, and merchandise and enjoy digital rewards such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Manchester City FC tokens recently allowed sports fans to have a say in crucial club decisions, such as the design of the club’s Wembley Stadium’s walls, photo opportunities, and their “Moment of the Season.”
Meanwhile, OKX plans to allow its social media fans to vote on which fan tokens should be listed on its exchange before the FIFA World Cup 2022. The highly anticipated sporting event will begin in November.
During the 2018 World Cup, three fan tokens qualified for OKX listing: POR, the Portugal National Team Fan Token, ARG, the Argentine Football Association Fan Token, and MENGO, the Flamengo Fan Token.
OKX is the first CEX to list TAMA.
In a related development, on September 27, OKX announced listing Tamadoge’s native token, TAMA, becoming the first crypto exchange platform to do so. TAMA is available on OKX’s spot trading platform and decentralized exchange (DEX) markets.
Tamadoge, a crypto token based on dog memes, took the crypto world by storm after raising $19 million in its beta token presale. The team will release Tamadoge’s NFT and Metaverse-related play-to-earn (P2E) game next month.
